Anyway, a couple hours later we were coming up on the busy anchorage at Black Point Settlement...many sailboats and cats here. We saddled up and dropped the anchor manullly and learned an important lesson about windlesses...the engine switch must be on for it to work. Ugh, no clue how the switch got turned off. Some days we are such amateurs.
So off to shore we went and had lunch at Lorraine's and I bought three loaves of bread. Yummy! I think I'm making coconut bread French toast tomorrow :-D
We did some boat laundry and got in the water first to cool off then to watch the crabbies rumble then to clean off the hulls. Not a bad way to clean the boat huh?! So we're 'that' boat here--clothes hanging all over the boat and causing an algae and crud cloud. Cue Sandford and Son theme music hahaha!
Now we're relaxing and enjoying our nightly beverages as the sun sets. Thirteen card poker anyone?! And big giant thank you to Carrie for the cards!!!
We will go ashore tomorrow probably before moving on. I may have to get more bread or at least pop into the grocer to get some more fresh items. They have a straw market/shop here that I may need to visit as well. It's a small settlement but it has a lot of simple local amenities to offer and is very sailboat friendly from what they say...no wonder it's so crowded here.
We should really think about where we are going next but there's always tomorrow cuz we're on island time now!
