Our time in George Town was longer than planned due to some issues with the watermaker quality and ordering new membranes and then the inevitable customs delay and of course installation. That's ok because we made the most of it. I even took a trip one afternoon to the deli just ousude of town--crammed in the back of the deli's pick up with 15 other boaters doing the same thing. I got $200 worth of meat and cold cuts along with a great bottle of $12 wine and $15 Cuban coffee :-)
In other fun news...
Mark and I went on a snorkeling day with Riaan and Brenda-Island Khaya-at Fowl Cay then also at one of the two reefs that are in the middle of Elizabeth Harbor. It was a wonderful day!! Every reef is its own world with its own personality. Every one is magic on its own and it feels special to be able to be in their world each visit.
Cool to see coral up close and personal at low tide.
Basking is pretty sweet!
Meanwhile a couple of troubadours took over Stray Cat...they guitared sunset in.
The watermaker parts showed up and cleared in no problem...install went perfect and we now make nearly pure water!!
Edit: other fun things that happened there were having a get together with Exhale who is another Island Spirit from Canada (I may have mentioned that before) and Island Khaya then one day and from Exhale took me to a boat there who had caught a lot of fish and getting fresh Trigger Hog Grouper and Mackerel for a super great price! We still have the grouper to enjoy on our trek North. There are three Island Spirits in one spot:
As I've said, George Town was a good stop and we enjoyed the time there but a week and a half was plenty for us. It was fun to meet other boaters and also meet a couple of the local folks like the man who owns Chat 'n Chill. Obviously it's the best place for provisioning too.
We had thought about going to the Raggeds, unpopulated islands south, but the lack of protection was a bit too nerve racking for us this first time--next time for sure. We waited for weather that would get us to Long Island and after a pretty hard squall in the predawn hours ( a cat a few over did drag far-scary) and a goodbye VHF call with Island Khaya, we left via the South cut out hoping the approaching cold front would sail us to Long. Well maybe not completely sail but we did get there :-)

So good to read an update and feel in touch with your adventures. All the pictures are good to see. Take care day by day.
