Onward to Key West -- second leg to Marathon

Next Leg:  Marathon...anchors up and away at 0630 again...  We had a full day of 5-7 knot sailing along with a rousing game of "dodge the lobster pots".  We anchored outside of Boot Key Harbor which was a rough night but maybe good for us to get used to because we are still sissies sometimes.  Island Khaya treated us to a lovely tuna salad dinner as we watched the sun set over the water.  We hadn't seen an over water sunset since sailing to St. Augustine.  As always, nature does provide the most exquisite show.
Here comes the sun as we departed Rodriguez Key for Boot Key, Marathon

I've never seen the sun bathing our sails - it was warm and beautiful and I had the feeling she was as proud of herself as I was of her!

Catching the wind for another day of sailing

Hey, somebody photobombed Stray Cat's photo ;-)

The changes in water color along the way were gorgeous but the excessive lobster pots were not--there is one of hundreds we dodged during our three day journey!

Somewhere up there is Key West

Not a quality YouTube video but had to get it in anyway.

Again with good time to spare we arrived at Boot Key and chose to anchor with Island Khaya outside the harbor since we were leaving at dawn the next day.  A good anchorage for holding but little protection and many fishing and power boats who had no problem speeding through the anchored sailboats...don't really get that and would like to think that I would slow down a bit when short cutting between anchored boats.  Regardless, the sunset was stunning even if we didn't see a green flash.

One of my favorite photos of her
Tomorrow would be a big day for us!  The third and final leg of our trip and the 'magical wonderland' of Key West...
